Who we are

TicoTrekker is a family-run private transfer service in La Fortuna, San Carlos, Alajuela, Costa Rica, operated by Lady Ivanova Barreda Moreno. Address: 700 m east of Los Ángeles school, La Fortuna (house on the left, bone-white). Contact: info@ticotrekker.com · WhatsApp +506 8338-3002 (6:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Costa Rica time). We usually reply within 2–4 hours.

Prices are per vehicle, not per person, in US dollars, final prices with taxes included. One price covers 1–6 passengers and another covers 7–14 passengers.
Included: tolls, bottled water and a bilingual driver. Not included: parking and parking meters, and tips (optional).
Return trips cost the same as the outbound trip. A round trip is the sum of both legs. Any destination in the country not listed on the site is quoted by WhatsApp or email.
Pickups between 12:00 and 5:00 a.m. carry a $35–$65 surcharge depending on distance and group size. There is no night or holiday surcharge.

Sending a request does not charge anything. A 50% deposit confirms your booking; the balance is paid the day before or the day of the service.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, SINPE, PayPal, cash and bank transfer.

More than 48 hours before pickup: full refund.
Between 48 and 24 hours: 50% penalty.
Less than 24 hours or no-show: 100% of the amount paid is lost (if only the deposit was paid, the deposit is lost).
Refunds are made within one week through the same payment method; otherwise by PayPal; otherwise by Western Union with the fee paid by the customer.
Force majeure (with proof): you choose a credit, a new date or a 100% refund.

Changes are accepted up to 24 hours before pickup by WhatsApp. Extra passengers adjust the price and are subject to availability.

We track flights: please share your flight number and connections.
Free waiting: up to 2 hours at the airport and up to 30 minutes at hotels. After that, $10 per extra hour.
At SJO and Liberia airports your driver waits at the main exit with a sign bearing your name.

Short stops for photos, food, the restroom or groceries are free up to 1 hour in total, then $10 per hour.
A stop to do a tour on the way costs $30 and covers up to 2.5 hours of waiting.

Child seats: $5 per seat. Please tell us the children's ages when booking.
Pets are welcome in their carrier, up to 20 kg.
Surfboards and bikes: tell us when booking and we send a vehicle with racks, subject to availability. Special luggage: tell us the type when booking so we can confirm any cost.
Capacity is up to 14 passengers with luggage, depending on the vehicle.

We operate with passenger insurance, ICT and CTP permits, and municipal business licenses.

You can ask for corrections to your details by WhatsApp or email. Billing data is kept for 5 years as required by law; other data is deleted after your service. See our privacy policy for details.
